My campaign for free TV licences for pensioners

The Labour Government has already done a lot for pensioners with free off-peak travel, Winter Fuel payments, the minimum income guarantee, help with their council tax bills and a commitment to reintroduce the link between pensions and earnings.

There are things we can do better, though.  For example, I want the Government to sort out the anomalies in the current system whereby the cost of a TV licence is different between those living in sheltered accommodation, nursing homes or living in their own home.

I think it would be fairer if we gave free TV licences to all pensioners aged 65 and over and I will continue to press the Government to introduce this as soon as possible.

Let me know if you support my campaign by voting in the online poll on this website.
